Terms of Service

By using ShowReco you agree to these terms. ShowReco is operated by [OWNER: legal entity / operator name]. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the service.

You need an account to use ShowReco. You must be at least 13 years old. Keep your login secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. Your recommendations are personal to you — please create your own account rather than sharing one.

ShowReco is free to use with generous limits. Because some features cost real money each time they run (AI calls in particular), the free tier has caps — for example, a daily limit on chat messages — and free chat may run on a different, faster AI model than the one supporters get. We may adjust free-tier limits over time as costs and usage change. We'll try to keep the free tier genuinely useful.

Supporting ShowReco unlocks the paid features (like unlimited chat on the smarter AI model and on-demand queue refreshes). The mechanic:

• You prepay for months. Each purchase is a one-time payment that adds a number of months to your balance. This is not a recurring subscription — nothing auto-renews and nothing is charged again unless you buy again.
• Months roll over indefinitely.Unused months sit in your balance until you use them. They don't expire.
• A month is consumed lazily.One month is deducted from your balance only the first time you use a paid feature within a given calendar month (measured in UTC). Just browsing, rating, or reading your queue doesn't spend anything.
• No proration.A month is a whole calendar month (UTC). If you activate one on the 28th, it covers the rest of that month — there's no partial credit for the days already gone. If you have no months left, paid features simply pause until you buy more; your data stays put.

During launch we may offer a Founding Member pack: a one-time purchase that adds 24 months to your balance and gives your account a permanent founding-member badge. It follows the same month-consumption rules above. If the offer is retired, purchases already in flight are still honored.

Because months don't expire and are only consumed when you use them, our default policy is simple: unused, unactivated months are refundable on request within [OWNER: refund window, e.g. 14 days] of purchase.Once a month has been activated (you've used a paid feature that month), that month isn't refundable, but any remaining unused months in your balance still are, under the same window. To request a refund, email [OWNER: contact email].

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers. See the Privacy Policy for what payment data we do keep.

ShowReco shows you where to watch or buy a title, and links out to streaming providers and book retailers. Some of those outbound links may earn ShowReco a commission when you use them.

Commissions never influence what we recommend or how we rank it.The part of ShowReco that decides what to suggest has no knowledge of which links are monetized — it's a hard separation in the code. We recommend what fits your taste, full stop. When you click an outbound link we count it only as an anonymous, per-service tally to understand outbound volume; we don't track who clicked (see the Privacy Policy).

The notes, ratings, and other content you create are yours. To run the service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content — including sending relevant parts to our AI provider — for the purpose of generating your recommendations and maintaining your taste profile. We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't use it to train our own models.

You agree not to:

• Abuse, overload, or try to circumvent rate limits or free-tier caps (including automated scraping or hammering the AI).
• Use ShowReco to break the law or infringe others' rights.
• Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the service's operation or security.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service.

ShowReco's recommendations, predicted ratings, and taste analyses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or just plain wrong. They're for your entertainment and convenience — not professional advice. Use your own judgment about what to watch or read.

ShowReco is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recommendations will meet your expectations. Third-party data (availability, ratings) can be out of date or incorrect.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, ShowReco and its operator won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of [OWNER: governing law — state / country], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date and give notice in the app. Continuing to use ShowReco after a change means you accept the updated terms.
